Wow, this actually made me realise that I'd never seen the original B-Free interview and that all the other fan made videos that bring it up use some weirdly edited clip that's removed all mentions of the word gay and Namjoon saying he understands both sides and them both saying that they hate the makeup. It's also edited to make it seem like Namjoon's answer to being "accused of being like girls" was something like "you can think that if you want to" when actually it's his response to being accused of disrespecting Kanye West later on in the interview. Idk, kinda makes me sad that people would rather spread around that fake clip instead of being honest about what they actually said and using it to show people how much they've grown over the years. I mean, the fact that they're always willing to learn and be better is one of the best things about them. I'm sure their answers would be a bit different these days.

I’ve realized lately how important it is to watch the original content in full on your own. There are so many instances of people taking things out of context to push a narrative (even in this video…I highly doubt any of the guys except maybe Joon understood what that guy was saying about conversion therapy laws and supporting LGBTQ youth when speaking at the awards show. There are no live translators for them at these events, and while I know they understand a decent amount of English, the conversion therapy conversation is culturally nuanced and uses a lot of uncommon words most basic English speakers won’t understand without a translator. The intention was sweet, but they were clapping because others in the audience were.) And just yesterday people on Twitter were sharing a screen shot from Tae’s vlog where he was talking about how if he were to do everything he originally intended for his album he would need to make 8 MVs, but he realized that was too much and he would have to revise that. But the screenshot just had the subtitles that said “I need to make 8 music videos”. People were getting all excited and running with it, not realizing or checking to verify what he was saying and that the screenshot was totally out of context. Watching the original content on your own is so important!
