Curiously in Mexico we apreciate a lot American Football. There are championships between highschools and college too. It's not like over there in USA (no superbowl and all that) but we like it a lot. Personally I find it more interesting than soccer or another sport like baseball or basketball. Also because I used to watch my brother's matches since he was in 7th grade up to Highschool.

I have always associated American football as a predominantly American pastime but apparently Sweden, Israel, Mexico, Australia, Japan, and Canada all have thriving American football leagues. When played in other counteries, the iteration of the sport vary from place to place, like touch football ("backyard football") or flag football. American football is actually so popular in Japan, they have multiple manga (comic book series) based on the sport itself, such as "Eyeshield 21" which was really popular back in the mid-2000s.
