I don't think they can forgive an apology that wasn't made lol. But Joon was so classy and I liked how Jimin made him sweat. Though.... they should know by now not to fuck with Army anyway. Ps. Did you see Cameron's dub???

I'm a few days late, but after reading the comments, I just want to point something out. At no point should ANY ARMY feel proud of what happened. James Corden, while I would agree he was digging a bit for sympathy, was merely showing his surprise at the level of animosity he received, in pointing out how someone told him they "wished he'd die today". The boys didn't respond to that because what is there to say? They don't condone that behavior, they've denounced it many times, but, at the same time, they love and appreciate ARMY for being so fiercely behind them in all things. It is an extreme statement, and while WE could wish he'd mentioned ANY other comment, that was still said to him, and he is allowed to repeat it to show the extremes some fans went to about his jokes. We only wish he hadn't mentioned that statement because it makes US look bad. I heard what he said, I did not appreciate what he said. It was ignorant and callous, and beneath him, beneath BTS. But being CALLED a bunch of 14 year old girls does not then excuse BEHAVING as such. Namecalling, hatred, death wishes, cancel culture - NONE of these are things to be proud of, for ANY reason or cause. These are precisely the things BTS themselves made UGH about - it wasn't meant to just talk about how OTHER people act towards them, but rather, how EVERYONE, INCLUDING ARMY, behave, and should stop. I was disappointed when James said those things - but I was ALSO disappointed in ARMY for lashing out like that. It's one thing to express disappointment and anger - it is another to be vile and toxic. I have, on many occasions, and on many different topics, expressed my opinion that if we want better for the boys, then WE, as a fandom, ALSO need to be better. This is another case of that. The reason no apology was made was because none was required - as evidenced by the fact that Namjoon brought it up in a joking manner, the fact that the entire situation (a conversation that was scripted, btw, and everyone involved knew the topic of discussion) was made into a light-hearted joke - that wasn't to get James to apologize, but rather, that was Namjoon telling ARMY that they are aware of the support, appreciate the support, but we can ease up on James because they were not at all hurt by his jokes, that they knew it was not meant to be malicious. No one was making anyone sweat, no one was grilling anyone - it was simply BTS having to ease tensions before ARMY got completely out-of-hand. We, as a fandom, have to stop cancelling everyone that could host them and introduce them to western audiences. We can talk about how they're stupid and these shows don't mean anything - except that, considering the boys GO to these shows, they clearly ARE important to them. Hosts, like James Corden, and shows like this is what grows the support for BTS in the US, by making them a household name, and making them familiar. And if we overreact to every stupid joke, then, while we may not be a fandom of 14 year old girls, we are definitely ACTING like that. And when we do it to these hosts, who then talk about the boys in other content, they have nothing but the bad behavior constantly in their faces, and that is what they will talk about - and this just makes our critics feel vindicated in spreading their ignorant hatred.
