- you didn't say anything wrong, but gun violence isn't a thing in Korea - Koreans don't carry guns - they ARE aware, of course, of the US and the issues with gun violence, but it is not a part of Korean society - in fact, MOST Koreans would be terrified at just the sound of gunshots as it's just not something Koreans are exposed to other than on TV and in movies, which, obviously, take guns to a whole different extreme - but that is pretty much the only exposure most Koreans have (outside of military service) - that said, Korea IS one of the highest ranking nations in sharpshooting at the summer Olympics (go figure), often placing and taking home medals for it - also, archery is a HUGE thing in Korea (which is why JK had that sports competition clip of him shooting a bow - he's good but he isn't an anomaly), and is a favored sports activity for many Koreans - historically, Koreans were renowned in ancient battles for horse archers, being excellent marksmen whilst on a galloping horse, so it is one of the national sports activities, alongside Taekwondo - and before anyone mentions this - rooftop Koreans - yes, Koreans in the US are bad ass and have no problem using guns - but while people love rooftop Koreans, AS a Korean person in the US during the LA riots, I'm both proud, but also a bit bitter about it - the reason why that became a thing was because when shit hit the fan, NO ONE IN AUTHORITY GAVE A SHIT ABOUT PROTECTING KOREANS AND KOREAN-OWNED BUSINESSES, and no one thinks twice about it when Koreans or Asians are used as rationalizations and are hurt/harmed in the crossfire of racial conflict, back then AND now - so, of course, we had to rely upon ourselves to protect ourselves (sorry, still a bit more bitter than I intended xD)

Thanks so much for the insight. And I'd probably be upset too if I was in your shoes. I pray for more peace, understanding, and awareness for all people that have had to deal with injustice.
