Hey everyone! As promised, here is the part two to the RM (the mixtape) lyric analysis and reaction!! Just to sum it up, I LOVED this album so much for the diversity. After another listen through, I still love Do You and Joke the most right now. But that is ALWAYS subject to change (just like Agust D and all of their other albums hahahah)! I really hope that you all enjoyed the reaction as much as I enjoyed the album. And NOW… that we have Wake Up and RM out of the way… YOU ALL KNOW WHAT IS NEXT!!! Muahahha! 👀💜

In this video we will discuss:

농담 (Joke)

God Rap

Rush (ft. Krizz Kaliko)

Life

표류 (Adrift)

I Believe (ft. BTS)

P.S. I will be getting to the Mochi Member requests later this week, and I will also be posting my reaction to the music videos tomorrow! 😏😏

Have an amazing day everyone! 💜

Idk why I thought I could work and watch this video at the same time lmao. At the very least we got to vibe to the rest of this classic mixtape together! This was one of the earliest things I listened to from BTS (since my introduction to BTS was Agust D, I checked out RMs mixtape pretty quickly and excitedly waited for Hobi's lol) and later hearing Mono you can really see how RM grew up...and honestly I kinda feel like I grew up with him! Same going from Agust D to D-2, I was carrying around a lot of those same sentiments and as I grew up and alongside BTS, my thoughts and feelings changed along with theirs it feels like.

Aw I hope you get to hear Monterlude! My favorite songs from this mixtape are Life and Do You, I listen to them all the time! When this mixtape came out, Joon was having a really tough time with his identity, just like the BTS identity was changing in Dark&Wild. I think a lot of this mixtape was really him trying to prove himself to these hiphop rappers, and thus uses a lot of the same (somewhat problematic) language just to show that he could do it too if he wanted to. This came out not long after they wrapped up the Red Bullet world tour, and although their first albums didn't do so great in South Korea, they really realized how much of an impact they had internationally, and that there are so many fans out there taking time to research their music and really feeling something from it. So Joon had the confidence to say he's doing better than he was in the underground, because he got so much crap for leaving it when he was doing so well there. From here on, RM (and BTS) realizes that they're not about those labels or proving themselves anymore, and they have stories to tell that many people want to hear and it's time to start something new. PS. I am loving your little breakdowns at the depth of the lyrics, I can't wait till you get to mono!!
