New Hat Designs (Spring Release) (Patreon)

Hi fish fries! I've been itching to make new hat designs for a while and some of these designs have been a work in progress/sketch in my ipad since sometime last year and I am so excited to finally get to produce them! 

The first one is a reversible genus mola bucket hat, featuring an embroidered design on one side and a pattern print on the other! I really adore how the colours came out for this one and I just love how it's reversible as well!! Two designs within one hat... This was my first time trying it out, I was worried that the embroidery would end up showing on the pattern but am really impressed that it was not!

I had an idea to do a "wrap around" bucket hat design and wanted to try it with some Long™ Friends but I personally found it a real struggle to draw a design that would wrap around while looking even throughout the hat (you can see on the initial design proof compared to the final sample)! My main concern was having the embroidery split in the middle if they chose to embroider it as two separate halves and then sew them together, but I'm relieved to see that the embroidery was done on one solid piece and then sewn together at the ends which made it easier to complete the visual I was going for!

For the final I am going to remove the little blue nostril for the ribbon eel, because the thread came out looking too large compared to the proof! I made an oarfish one too that I hope to release for the deep sea update but if this goes well, I'd love to make more of these bucket hats in the future, I find them super super cute and fun to make!

• Last, but not least, a memorable quote to make a memorable hat. I bought the "Women Fear Me, Fish Fear Me" tall cap as a hilarious Christmas gift for my brother last year, but while the phrase was still big, my friend and I talked about some different variations of the phrases that circulated the web while it was big a few months ago and low and behold: women want fish. me fear me. (very appropriate for crybaby). I hosted a poll on patreon for whether or not people wanted this as a baseball cap or a bucket hat and a majority went with the baseball cap so here's what we got!

These will be available in late-April/early May for that Spring Release as well! I love making these hats so I'm super excited to make more in the future. 🥺 Let me know if there's any ideas for hats/apparel/merchandise you guys would like to see!
