Valentine's Day Release (TBR in Late January) (Patreon)

Hi fish fries!! Long time no update, I know I've been super slow with any posts since I've been backed up on store stuff but since I'm slowly catching up with the store closing this weekend, I wanted to take the time to share some new previews on a Valentine's Collection release for February!

The plan is to release these mid-January and have them shipped ASAP (I will be ordering them ahead of time in limited quantities to prep) so that they'll arrive in season for the month of February 💕💕

FINPINSHOP x UMVVELT PIN COLLABORATION

I remember one instance very cleary where, in my elementary school Valentine's Day party, I received no cards from any of my classmates, including someone who I thought was my best friend at the time (grade schoolers are very finicky children I guess LOL)--but despite that, those extremely tacky Valentine's Day cards I saw for sale at Wal-Mart & Target hold a special place in my heart!

I really wanted to give a go at designing a foldable card similar to how they were sold in stores--a square design with a u-shaped diecut towards the bottom to allow the top to be tucked in without the use of a sticker would also be a great functional idea that would allow the card to be presentable while reducing the sticker waste.

The front is left blank, so in that old nostalgic fashion, you can write the name of who you'd want to give the pin to! The inside has a punny saying (which just adds on to the tackiness) on the top half, while the bottom half is blank and is the area meant for the pin to be placed and presented (the card will already come with the pin attached so no worries about the extra work haha). 

Valentine's Day is fun, but I love adding bits of education whenever I can, so on the backside, Yasmin (from FinPinShop) & I have also included a fun fact (or two) about that specific animal depending on what pin you get!

We plan on making the pins out of 1" hard enamel and with a rose-gold plating (that nice pinkish is more than suitable for the overall theme of valentine's day haha) and plan to offer a matching postcard (or sticker set, it is still up for discussion) if you buy any 3 pins! The pins themselves will be a generic design with hearts and will have nothing in it directly related to valentine's day (aside just the theme of pink and hearts) so they'll be perfect to wear on any day and can still be sold after the month of February (if we have any remaining stock)!

I am super excited to work with FinPinShop on this really cool collab and I'll be sure to update with more photos as I receive the products in!

VALENTINE'S DAY APPAREL & OTHER

I can't resist the urge to produce more apparel--they are the one item that takes up the most space, with sweaters in particular, but to be honest, I adore the cozy feeling with them and with Winter already here, what harm is there producing more--right? 😂

I went ahead and brainstormed an idea for a whales valentine's day sweater (bc I just love whales 😩) with an embroidered heart design on the sleeve. I'm not too good with working with warm colours (or rather, any colour outside of blue lmao) so this whole valentine's day collection is quite a challenge for me--I'm hoping to make the sweater a sort of heliconia pink or a magenta--something on the darker side to allow the brightness of the embroidery to stand out (with the whales hopefully being a light pink). 

The design will be finalized by the end of the month and hopefully submitted for production in January, where they'll arrive to me before the shop release! I'm also looking into producing a matching t-shirt set (no ideas yet though...) & release a new phone grip design of crybaby along with the restock of Rhin, the newest character to be introduced. 

That's all the updates with regards to this collection for now though! I'll be updating more throughout this month with newer items to be released at a later date, including another collab to be released in late February with Rainylune (more frog chaos).
