Hi everyone, it's time for a new exclusive map for Legendary and higher tiers! Please check your messages for the link to SEA WATER

Just the surface of the water, shot from a drone in Bali and then looped. You've often asked, so I did it. I also added a serene sea skyline backdrop as bonus.

This map was already sent to those who have been my patrons of Legendary or higher tier since the previous month, and now you can find this map at myDriveThruRPG page.

Have you been working on any kind of desert maps? A desert temple or dungeon would be awesome.

Very nice, and I appreciate the first person view from the shore looking out at the horizon. Thanks! :)

So great! We loved our trip to Bali (Amed) and the landscape. Your top down drone concept is really intriguing. Any tips for getting the loop edit just right? Thanks for the amazing work!

Yes I have! You can find some maps by the 'desert' tag already - https://www.patreon.com/animatedmaps/posts?filters%5Btag%5D=desert I plan to make a temple too

That's quite simple. The main thing is to wait for windless weather and no clouds. If there are a lot of waves you won't be able to merge. Take a long shot. About 5 minutes. Then you can use any editor to loop it by blurring the edges of the video.

Last ??? I swear... :) Do you have a rule of thumb for calculating altitude for a 4k shot? I know basics about GSD calculations but you seem to have thought this through more than I.

Gotcha. I just thought this through a bit. So at your typical screen size and grid dimension, you should fly your drone at a football field. Fly high enough so you are able to see 60yds of ground wide (36 grid squares) in the viewfinder. Record that altitude. Now whatever loops you shoot will be to 5' grid scale. Gonna go try this with my DJI Mini Pro 3 this weekend ;)

Love this! I've been using Dwarven Forge on top of my screen and it's so hard to find "birds eye empty water" maps, or the same for lava, or just empty fields. I'm using this immediately with cliffs on either side for a battle over and down a river.
