I have the overhaul for the anal system all set and ready for testing! Unlike the others which ended up being almost totally reworked, this one is still largely the same, just with some balancing tweaks and minor adjustments. Due to the fact that anal scenes are functionally an added difficulty modifier on normal prey scenes and the only predators using anal vore on you are sophomores at the moment who would be challenging regardless, it was a little difficult to handle the balancing on these, so I'll be looking forward to some feedback there! There is a tutorial for anal scenes now as well.
In addition, this version introduces new Easy and Hard difficulty settings that you can toggle in the options menu! These settings will influence how effective you and your pred/prey's actions are. I haven't done much testing of them myself yet beyond making sure they do appear to be applying correctly, so let me know how you feel about them if you try out this build!
Changelog:
- Cleaned up some aspects of anal scenes behind the scenes to make them easier to work with
- Updated the logic for transferring to a normal stomach struggling scene to account for changes with that system. The acid level will now always be at the first stage when you arrive, rather than varying between 1-2 depending on how long you took to get there
- Tweaked a lot of values for anal scenes to ensure that modifiers were applying correctly and that the weighting on various outcomes felt fair, including reducing stamina loss from actions at least a little across the board.
- Renamed "Brace" to "Brace Yourself" in anal scenes for consistency with how the action is labeled in normal prey scenes
- A pred's "strain threshold" in anal scenes will now get lowered every time they pass it, making it progressively easier to wear them out as the scene progresses
- Resilience now reduces how much stamina your actions cost and improves the amount of strain you inflict on your predator
- Added sidebar info and pred action reminders to anal scenes like normal pred and prey scenes. Importantly, this means you can now tell when your pred is going to be inactive from being strained so that you can properly take advantage of it
- One significant addition to anal scenes: the direction you are facing is now tracked, giving you a moderate boost to your success odds when you try to move forward rather than backward (this will also be used to make writing generic messages easier, writing descriptions of you moving that make sense regardless of if you went in headfirst or feetfirst is tricky ^^;)
- A few anal outcomes that still had debug text now have proper generic messages (Currently there is still only 1 possible message for 90% of anal outcomes but I'm planning to finally flesh them out more when these changes are rolled out to the game proper. Also I don't think I've mentioned in previous changelogs, but I've been adding more generic messages to the other systems along with their overhauls, there are 3 possibilities for (almost) everything in pred/prey scenes now instead of 1-2 like there were before)
- Added some fun, small changes to the sidebar when prey (you or an npc) gets digested

Unless any major balance changes are needed, next on my agenda will be implementing the overhauled systems back into the main game! I'm aiming to have that minor update to week 1 (which will contain these reworked struggle systems, tweaks to stats to have proper leveling curves and fully implement capacity rather than leaving it hidden, the final poll winning scene waiting to be added to the first week, a new "week in review"/transition to week 2 after you go to sleep on Saturday, and a number of other minor tweaks/additions) finished by the end of March at the latest! After that, it'll be on to week 2 with regular dev builds again.
