The pred scene overhaul isn't ready yet, but I made enough tweaks to the prey scene system after feedback from the last build and my own testing that I thought it was worth putting out an update for feedback already rather than waiting for the pred side of things to be done! Here's the changelog:

  • Slightly reduced the intensity of Alesha’s crushes after the first when you trigger her and Sarah trying to finish you off in her scene to make things a bit less oppressive
  • Fixed a logic error that made Betty’s crushes twice as powerful as intended in some circumstances
  • Slightly reduced the baseline stamina cost of Struggle and Conservative Struggle (was 12 and 6 respectively, now 10 and 4)
  • Strength now provides a larger damage boost to Aggressive Struggle than the other offensive actions
  • To further define its main intended role as a counter to preds acting defensively, Aggressive Struggle will now also ignore 25% of stomach resistance (Note that this does apply both ways–it won’t benefit as much from weakened resistance as the other options do, but will always deal at least some damage when resistance is high no matter how overwhelming it is)
  • [To give an idea of balance impact, at max strength/resilience I was able to just barely manage a win against Izumi without overexerting myself after the above two buffs to aggressive struggling]
  • The baseline stamina restored by resting has been raised to 12% of your maximum(was 10%). Additionally, resting while your predator is massaging their belly will now restore 20% of your stamina, but resting while your predator is taunting you will now only restore 6%
  • Slightly reduced the default amount of health predators regain by using Massage
  • Stomach power now has a cap in place as a safeguard and maxes out at 10 or -10
  • Because of the new opportunities presented by the changes to the system, there are now a few new actions that will unlock as you raise your Resilience level! (the same way unlocking “shake” on the pred side of things works with your oral proficiency level in the current game)
  • Only one of three planned, “Probe”, is currently available through normal means in the demo since your resilience is capped at 3
  • However, for the purposes of the demo there is also a toggle that will let you enable the “Soothe” action even though it shouldn’t become available until your resilience is 5
  • OSMI’s body has been updated to a newer model equipped with cleverly placed storage tanks to allow for simulated weight gain after relevant tutorials

Still hoping to have the pred system update ready by the end of next week! Though the writing for the tutorial might end up pushing it back a bit.
