Character Contest Voting Guidelines (Patreon)

We're over halfway through the entry period of the character contest, so I thought it would be a good time to give you an update on how the voting is going to work!

As mentioned in the contest guidelines, there will be four rounds of voting, and after each round the character(s) with the least votes will be eliminated. How many characters are removed from the roster each round depends on the total number of entries, but it will be planned out so that the fourth week will only have the top three characters still in the running.  To be specific about the voting period:

• Round 1: May 4th to May 8th
• Round 2: May 11th to May 15th
• Round 3: May 18th to May 22nd
• Round 4(Finals): May 25th to May 29th

If you entered by pledging as a senior, you need to maintain that pledge for as long as your character is in the running or they will be disqualified. If your character gets knocked out before the finals, you're free to drop your pledge and not have to pay for May.

I've said before that I want this contest to be like a little community event. After all, even if they're not a major character, adding a new recurring character is a big deal! To meet that goal, voting is going to be open to everyone, not restricted to patrons. However, being a supporter still has it's perks! When the voting period rolls around, there will be a poll posted on both the Eka's forum thread and here on the patreon page. Once the round of voting is over, I'll tally the votes from both polls to get the results, effectively giving patrons two votes! In addition, the Juniors and Seniors will also get the same extra votes they receive during the monthly scene polls. To summarize:

• Anyone: 1 vote
• Freshman and Sophomores: 2 votes
• Juniors: 3 votes
• Seniors: 4 votes

Finally, just like the monthly scene polls I won't be participating unless we somehow end up with a tie at any stage of the contest, in which case I'll cast the deciding vote.
