I like experimenting with various ways of coloring that are expressive without weighing down the illustrations too much. One thing that I'm trying to do is to give the flat colors a very subtle "ambient shading" to make things look just a little bit warmer and 3dimensional. I'm pretty happy with how this technique turned out for this one!!
