That's how I'd describe myself, except I'm completely on fire. Burning with work, creative projects, and just...passion. But when you burn so intensely, you'll inevitably burn out.

That's what it's been like for me.

Preparing for each episode of the Dungeons & Da Asians actual play is a very rewarding, but time-consuming process. In general, I produce, edit, upload, and market every episode of Asians Represent. That includes doing the majority of the world-building for our D&D show and paying for the art we commission. I love doing this, but if I continue to be the only one doing this work, we will eventually peak and cease to grow.

Our Kickstarter campaign for Ross Rifles is now over! The project was funded 280%, and I'm so proud of the work Patrick, Daniel, Will, and I have done so far. At the moment, the book is about 60% complete! Thanks to our stretch goals (which will be the majority of the work), we will be commissioning maps from my friend and master cartographer Mark Richardson. I'm VERY excited to be collaborating with him. The marketing preparation (podcasts, etc.) and execution was extremely stressful. For the duration of the campaign, despite being funded in 24 hours, felt like having a second full-time job. I lost so much sleep in October, and have slowly been recovering.

The unannounced Asian anthology project I wrote about is now slowly happening. But the disorganization of the workflow makes everything much more difficult for me. Deadlines are unclear, leadership is uncertain, and communication is simply inaccessible. I understand that Discord is free, but it can't be the place where projects are managed. I'll touch on this in another post.

I need to learn how to step back and let others take the reins. 2020 will be the year that I start being far more selective of the projects I undertake in favour of self-care.

Now, it's time to brave the snow and buy shipping materials for You're Fucking Awesome!
