Widowmaker Rework v2.0 (Patreon)

Well, hello there!

Yeah yeah I know it's not the PotM but, let me tell you a story!

It all begun a long, long time ago, when an ambitious apprentice of the forbidden arts decided to change the Widowmaker. The though of only adding some new clothes was not enough. A rework was on the horizon. And so it happened! Day after day, night after night, going without sleep and a lot of frustration, it was finally over. The GREAT rework! It was done!

Anyway, don't mind my little storytelling back there I just wanted to do this once in my life.

The past week or so (I don't remember I lost count of the days), I started to make this new outfit for the PotM. When it was done, I thought why not add particle hair too. One thing led to another so I also reworked a bit the model's mesh, made a new 4k udim textures (seperated uv maps for the head, torso, arms, legs, genitals, etc.) + I remade the tattoos in 4k, with the exception of her arm tattoo (I don't really like it, plus it whould take me a long time to retrace it in PS, maybe in the future). After that I sculped the mesh so I could create the normals. Finally I created the hair.

For having multiple 4k textures it is fairly easy to load, but the particle hair are slowing it down while it renders, as usual.

I can't say it was easy, I did a few mistakes that cost me a day or too but I've learned from these.

On the last photos if you zoom in you can see the lip, fingerprint, nipple details. Noone will see them but I've added them either way. The scene's got a dit too much light so the normals get lost in the light.

Tomorrow I'll work on the PotM posters I'll have them ready the next day. After that I'll test Widow in an animation, if it performs well I'll rework Mercy next month, it's going to take me less time from now on. After Widows animation I'll start the AotM poll, maybe this month I'll finish it before the end of the month.

Btw, from now on I'll try to be more active (sharing my progress, and asking for your opinion) because I get lost in blender for hours and always forget to post stuff! 😅
