This is the start of a small series of videos that show how VN Game Engine can be used to animate your scenes.  I think this is much friendler than Timeline for flexibility but it does not animate special MODs like Render Editor or NodeSelect.

If you want a basic animation tool this will work for you.

What is VN Game Engine?
VN Game Engine is a very good MOD for animating your scenes and creating stories. I do not use the story features but if you have the time and patience to learn you will find many cool things.

VN Game Engine is a mod and the creator's page is @ https://brangnim.tistory.com/510 You can find much more detail about the features and some other tutorials.  I personally do not need all of the features but you might want them.

My version of VN Game Engine
I think I am using Version 8. I hacked it so that it would load when I pressed the right combination of keys. You can download my version from The Vault by visiting The Vault -> Directors -> VN Game Engine -> Version 8

There is a .zip file to download or you can browse the folder structure.

Installing VN Game Engine.
Download my version and extract it into your root directory. You should copy the contents into /Plugins/.  A DLL will be copied inside /Plugins/ and a folder will be created called 'Console'

Getting started Tutorial
The first tutorial will assume you are using my version. If you are not using my version then the key combination to launch VN Game Engine could be different.  The settings files are inside /Plugins/Console/Lib/vngameengine.ini
I updated mine so that it did not conflict with HSPE or other module shortcut keys.

You can find the Tutorial inside The Vault -> Directors -> Tutorials.
There is no sound.

  • Video Error  correction - When I create a new 'Clip' I begin calling it a 'Scene' but I am wrong.  I should be calling them Clips. The clips are created by VNGameEngine and they are saved inside the StudioNEO scene.

Play around
There are many other options and I will create tutorials in time but I recommend you click and try all of the buttons.  You can also animate the Camera, Sounds and System options.
