A heads up, apparently if I earn more than $600, Patreon makes me fill out a W-9 with my full name, address and social security number. I wasn’t aware of this, and I wanted to keep my personal info detatched from my art as much as possible. So I might be removing my Patreon and moving to a site that doesn’t require that, if I can even find one.

Right when this Patreon thing really starts working out too, the fucking government has to shove their grubby little mitts into my business. I’ll keep you guys updated.

If you consider subscribestar, just know that a lot of debit cards and payment processors get blocked. It also doesn't support Paypal. I had to get a credit card to keep subscribed to someone on there. Prepaid cards work but fees are discouraging. It will probably discourage a few subscribers. I'd stay on board though. Its one of those annoying things where religious extremist organizations used baseless defamation and cultural pressure against them and I guess paypal hesitates to want to affiliate, but for some reason credit cards do, but bank cards just stopped doing it for me. Controlling payment is a growing frontier I'm finding for cultural cancellations. So the risk of not getting paid may grow in other places. I understand though the desire for privacy.

Absolutely, control the money and you control everything. Can't even make a website without proper funding. I'm gonna have to bite the bullet, so today I've been rethinking my online security even more. I already use a VPN, but I'm taking the next step to protect my information so I can keep using this platform.
