Happy Lesbian Day of Visibility! (Patreon)

I drew this whole thing in 16 hours!! WOW!! IN ONE DAY LOL I have no regrets. This was extremely rewarding to do. I will be dividing this piece into 4 postcard prints (4x6) and sending them out to participants in the Global Postal Dyke March! This is the original concept for this illustration. It was going to be just one 4x6 postcard. I drew it Friday morning and said "aw yeah, this is cute!" Then I woke up Saturday morning and said, "NO. BIGGER."

So I drew more. The rough sketch was probably the most fun, but most challenging part. It was a lot to think about, layout and representation and composition. But I LOVE drawing bikes. I do!!

I made the decision to keep all the bikes in silhouette (and the same color) to reduce the eye strain on the image. There's something really pleasant about looking at my inks. Ah. Lineart.

I also made the decision to keep it to just the rainbow flag, and I'm glad I did! Trying to incorporate the colors of the other flags would have been too much for me to cope with. So I maintained the rainbow theme, and I love it.
