Painterly - March Patreon Illustration (Patreon)

I watched Portrait of a Lady on Fire for the second time recently. Both times, I became so wistful for oil painting. I don't really have the space to set up an oil painting studio, or the time to go somewhere to do oil painting... so I thought I would experiment a little bit with doing a painterly style on the iPad.

It's not really the same, but it was nice anyway. When I render digital pieces like this, I'm able to give consideration for color in a way I rarely do with my flat style.

Perhaps if I tried out new brushes in CSP I would find something I like better...

Here's hoping I can get back into oil painting later this year!
