Hello everyone! ☺️

Yesterday I went to a pretty cafe and filmed a new draw with me video for you! 🧡 It’s gonna be a cozy video showing the process of this grayscale sketch of a scene from one of my favorite movies, called Emma 🥰 I’m really in love with drawing scenes at the moment, it’s just so fun to try capturing emotions in the characters:)

I’ll start coloring the drawing soon! Rendering in grayscale first is one of my favorite ways to start a more detailed/complex drawing before getting into any coloring, because it helps me to figure out all the values and contrasts. Contrast in the lights and shadows is one of the most useful elements of art because it can really help create a special focal point in your work, and it can also make things look dramatic which we all love 😏 So you’ll get to see how I do that in the video! 🤍

I’ll get started on editing the video tonight! :) And speaking of videos, earlier this morning I posted the timelapse process of my classroom mini comic, which you can watch here!

Alright I hope you all have a happy weekend!! Stay safe and cozy :) 🧡

Love,

Lydia 💌
