Awesome tutorial! 😍😍 you explained everything so well and it was really helpful πŸ™πŸ» I will definitely try this method out myself I definitely struggle with choosing too many colors and making my drawings unnecessarily too complicated So thank you for this ☺️ the final drawing looks so pretty πŸ₯°

Thank you so much for this tutorial ❀️❀️❀️. I learned soooo much! In general I always have a hard time if I go straight to colors and loose a bit of contrast. I really wanted to try this technique because I am more comfortable with grayscale at the moment but I don’t want to do only grey paintings πŸ˜‚ I’ll definitely try that on my next colored illustration! Thank you so much for your hard work and great explanations ❀️❀️❀️

Lydia! This is a game-changer to me! So many sketches were abandoned by me because when I tried to shad after colouring they looked so crappy πŸ˜„ this is amazing and I can really do some stalling with choosing colours now πŸ˜…

Used to paint grayscale in photoshop but it’s been so hard in procreate, thank you for this video, I feel encouraged to give it another go!

I’m so so happy to hear that!! 😍 Totally know what you mean about stalling colors, I definitely like to experiment so this method helps my process a lot too! πŸ₯°

I totally know that feeling! Except for me, Photoshop feels difficult! πŸ˜… I’m so happy you enjoyed the tutorial, have fun!! πŸ’›βœ¨

Haha I know what you mean! πŸ™ˆ For a while I felt like I wasn’t doing something right because I liked painting in grayscale first rather than jumping straight to color like I see so many other artists doing, but I’ve learned it’s a method used a lot in the industry which is super cool to think about! 😍

Yay I’m so happy you enjoyed it!! 😍 I definitely get what you mean, when I first started out I felt way more comfortable with grayscale and so this method really helped me with coloring! ☺️ It’s cool though because after doing it for so long, I feel much more confident going straight to color if I feel like it 😌 I think this method helps with getting used to colors in a more comfortable way! πŸ’›

I’ve seen and done it both ways were the grey scale is the first layer set to normal, or the flat layer is the first layer set to normal. Is there a specific reason why you prefer the grey scale to be the first layer instead of the one set to multiply?

Thankyou so much, your tutorials have brought my art to another level!

I love this! I've been struggling with rendering and shading, so I'm really going to focus on greyscale now.

The music on the tutorial is from the novela Paginas Da Vida right? Do you speak Portuguese? I love that novelas πŸ’• amazing tutorial 😊 I like painting from grayscale too but my process usually takes too long and gets complicated

I recently just became a patron of yours and for the longest time, I couldn't even figure out how you turned your sketch to RED. It makes SO much sense now! Thanks for sharing!
