Read all the info below!!

Yay!! Finally finished this tutorial! I hope you all enjoy it :D This is a private Youtube link that only you guys can view. I don't exactly have an "official" YouTube channel yet but I may consider making one!

A couple things to take note of -- I did not make audio for this but I plan to do so in the future! So I apologize for the lack of sound hehe. This is also my first attempt at making a tutorial, so right now I'm trying to learn and improve for future ones :)

In this video I'm working on Procreate and use just two brushes: shale brush (a default brush in the calligraphy tab) and the Tara Blur brush which was downloaded for FREE from DizzyTara's brush pack. You can find it and download it on Gumroad here! It is the one that costs $0. I use a blending tool from this same pack as well.

The techniques I show you in this tutorial are focused on rendering an eye. It may seem like it only applies to realistic work, BUT in actuality I am trying to show the fundamentals of rendering the eye. These fundamentals can be bent and stretched across all styles to bring life and depth into an eye.

I hope you can gather something from it! Happy arting ~

thaaank youuu! can you maybe make a tutorial on how you color in general? 'cause I think you paint in grayscale first and then you put in color is that right? I'd also love to know how you choose colors... ahh sry just love your art hahah😂😊❤️

lotusbubble

omg yes!! Believe it or not I actually have a little notebook where I've written down several ideas of tips/tutorials to share with you all, and color is one of them! It's a really detailed subject so I will definitely want to have audio for that hehe. As for painting in grayscale and then layering color, there's a special trick with that too so I will make that its own tutorial! :)

Mailin

awesome!😍 can't wait to learn all your little tips and tricks❤️

Beatrice Henriette

Thank you so much for this tutorial!!! It helped so so so so much. I never stop to think that the light reflection goes on the darkest part of the eye, it was such a revelation to me but it males all the difference. Trully thank you❤️ can’t wait for the one about color! That’s what I struggle with the most when I draw.

Lani

Rendering is the area I struggle with the most so seeing it laid out step-by-step in real-time is so helpful. Thanks for the tutorial! Can’t wait to see more 😄

Shannon Biondi

Great tutorial! Thanks Lydia. The diagonal reflection of the highlight was a eureka moment. :D

lotusbubble

Yess!! That detail about the highlight going on the darkest part of the eye was something I discovered through a lot of observation and it really helps to add contrast and depth! I’m so glad you could benefit from the tutorial! 💖💖

lotusbubble
