I'm scheduling this post in advance because I'll be busy with family stuff.
- I'm at my parents' place for the holidays. Good to just relax and not think about work. I forgot I even have a job until now! wow
- Half the reason I like coming down here is because there are like four really good coffee shops within a 5 minute drive and I really look forward to going there in the mornings
- They say brevity is the soul of wit. I'll be working on making my words brief and witty.
- Secret santas are over! Nothing like a secret santa to make you realize how outclassed you are. I'll become better so I can proudly stand among my peers next year lol
- One of my biggest art heroes Jaya Ply was my secret santa this year and he drew Skye - 2021 has been made
- A bunch of people (including me) got emails that their Skye plushies were shipped? That's like 2 months early, but whatever, I'll take it
- Saw the new Spider-Man movie at the theater. It was pretty hyped up by that time and I was already kind of aware of many of the things that were gonna happen, but I enjoyed it a lot.
- Saw the new Matrix movie on HBO Max, didn't know what to expect going in, and I probably should have re-watched the two previous sequels to brush up on the story, but it was interesting and entertaining enough
- New Spider-Man and Matrix movies? What is this, 2002?
- I'm continuing to stubbornly keep on the pixelart thing because I think it's some kind of "trademark style" that I need for people to recognize my art, but I also feel like it's holding me back because it's so brittle and such a pain to do anything beyond simple celshaded stuff with more complicated compositions at high res. Anyway, no more, I'm going to expand my horizons
- The Dancing with Air Fryers pic was received very well on both Twitter and Instagram and I'm pretty happy about that - I hate thinking about numbers but it's been a while since my OC stuff did this well so it did help restore my confidence a bit. As dumb as it sounds, it was kind of reassurance that I've "still got it" or whatever.
- it was also super fun to draw and it took like 30 minutes. talk about efficiency
- I was gonna take it easy the rest of the year, but I got a good idea for a new years comic, so now I have the script and panels planned out. Please look forward to it
Anyway, that's it for the week! We seem to have a lot of new patrons this month. Welcome and thank you for your support! I hope you stick around. Have a good holidays :)
