Sword Slime (Patreon)

The hero, Yushar, has raided the dungeon and stolen its treasure. A lone slime, with Yushar's sword wedged in his head and map to guide him, goos on a quest to track the hero down!  

A short non-dialogue one shot comic I've been meaning to make for a while. I decided to try submitting it for the Shonen jump manga contest earlier this month. The version I submitted is in Japanese layout and was more of a WIP.

I wanted to completely finish it before making a post about it. I figure among the platforms I've been using, it seems like it'd be easiest to read a series of pages here on Patreon.

I haven't done any comic work in a while, let alone much in ways of personal projects. It was fun to work on, maybe I'll explore this setting more in the future. I'll post some sketches up on here too.

Still, it was enough of a motivator to get this done lol XD I'm glad you enjoyed the comic though ! m(_)m

Damn this is was awesome. I love it that it was a story without dialogue! It was strong and I was able to understand the story. How long did it took you to make this? Oh man that contest?! I wish I was able to enter it (profound sadness(

The ideas you have for it do sound pretty cool, and would fit in with what would match the contest pretty well, but yeah I thought this one would be doable in the time I had allotted for it, but even then I still had to submit a WIP instead in order to get anything in. Glad to hear that the story read without dialogue, that was a bit of a concern I had, and some people I showed it to did have trouble and had made some adjustments. I started this like I think a couple weeks before Sept 1, and was crunching on it- so that's how far I got under that condition, then less of a crunch / had to juggle other tasks / move on and went a lot slower for the later half (plus the last page took a bit longer too lol) not sure the total hour count, but I guess approximately a month?
