How's everything going for you all? Here's some more information on the use of Serenity.

As I stated in a previous update, the illegal drug Serenity can now be purchased in East Mor Town and used if you choose to. While there are no beneficial effects to using the drug and is more of a role-playing tool, there are some extra touches added to the game for those who decide to use it.

Since having Serenity in your possession is of course illegal, speaking to a Mor Town guard with some in your inventory will cause them to arrest and fine you. If Mila is unable to pay the heavy fine, she will be locked away, leading to a game over.

Once Mila has used Serenity enough times, she will become addicted to the drug. This is reflected in her status screen and even in her character sprite! Using the drug over and over will permanently decrease your stats by a little bit. Additionally, Mila begin to crave the drug at inopportune times.

If Mila is an addict, there is a small percent chance that during a fight she may get distracted or become weak, putting you at a disadvantage. Obviously this pretty bad, but there is a solution:

(Mila's addicted sprite can be viewed in the picture above)

By visiting either Besilly or Fallholt Cathedral, you can speak with a nun that can rid Mila of her addiction, for a price. Mila will then be put in a state of withdrawal, but should recover naturally as long as you don't make her relapse!

Of course, if you continue to feed her addiction and purchase more than you can afford while addicted, well... You know how it goes...

The full version of this art (Human and Vampire version) is a available to all of my $5 and up patrons. Check it out if you're interested.

Anyway, that's all I have for you this week! Until next time, everyone!

Will new NPC reactions or Mila's inner thoughts be integrated into previous dialogues and quests?

I assume you are referring to new interactions with NPCs when she is fully addicted. Aside from the interactions I just mentioned in this post. there will not be any other NPC interactions or dialogue changes in this update. I may go back and update that in the future, but no promises. There is a lot of dialogue to go through and update, so it would be a challenge to add in.
