I want to make more art resources and tutorials and I think a good place to kick this off would be about gesture drawings. It's something I cannot recommend enough, for any artist, no matter how much experience they have under their belt. I found that doing gesture studies every now and then really helps me keep my knowledge of anatomy, shapes, flow, and body language fresh and true to life.

I use Quickposes but there are sooo many gesture drawing websites to choose from to whatever suits your fancy.

I recommend the book MORPHO: Simplified Forms by Michel Lauricella. There are other books in the MORPHO series which I plan to get later on, and I will give further recommendations if I liked any of them.

Another book I recommend is Ken Hultgren's The Art of Animal Drawing. As you can see my copy is very well-loved and I've had it for many years. It was pivotal for me in understanding flow and simplified 3D forms and is a great resource for drawing all types of animals.

Babe Lab has a bunch of miscellaneous tutorials that I found helpful. I know this guy's obsessed with A Very Particular Character Type, but a lot of the advice can be applied beyond that.

I'm thinking next to be diving into the specifics of how I approach gesture studies and what my thinking process is like. I'd love to know what type of art resources/tutorials you would like to see me do in the future, and please let me know if you have any questions.

Have a nice weekend!

Thank you so much for the recommendations, I definitely need to brush up on my anatomy! This is a really out of left field question but why do you put those random things in your sketchbook? I kind of love it not gonna lie.
