context: 

original universe dima got in a car crash near a fox shrine in the woods and almost died. instead of a hisuian zorua, she was rescued by a fading fox spirit who used the last of her powers to return dima to full health. dima woke up in the shrine, surprisingly not dead and a significant amount more foxy.

the whole not-dead thing also came with some responsibilities, namely that she inherited the fox spirit's duties in tending to the shrine and protecting the area's foxes. in addition to this, the position came with command of the shrine's two attendants. the attendants are pictured here, er... 'helping' with some of dima's new instincts.
