Originally this page was more depressing in tone in the script, but I decided in hindsight that there's been a bit too much of that, and this should be transitioning into something more optimistic and uplifting at this point. That's why in the final page, both Nes and his Dad are smiling, and while it's bittersweet, it's shifted more towards the "sweet" part. I felt this would serve the story much better! Each part works more effectively in contrast with each other.
