July Content Progress Report (Patreon)

If you haven't joined the discord server, you may not be up-to-date on July's content.  Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing (Hellsing) won the monthly character poll.  Usually I only do a single color pinup for these polls, but this month ended up being a little different.  

If you've read the info about the patreon, then you know my goal is to do larger comic projects in the future (in addition to the usual single images).  I don't have some of the stylistic particulars figured out or much experience with screentones and rendering with them.  I wanted a chance to work on some of these finer details with an extended project rather than just rushing something out for the month.  With all this in mind (and the fact that I love Hellsing), I decided to extend this month's content into a short comic:

Title:  Countess: The Weekly Duty of a Soldier is Maintaining Her Purity in the Eyes of Our LORD While Following Orders and Relieving Her Stress, Our S&D Unit Will OPEN HER ASS Until She is Satisfied!  Failure Will Not Be Tolerated. . .

I don't have a ECD on this project since it's largely a learning process, and I've already experienced some setbacks and done some studying and testing.  I will be working on this and updating patrons in the coming months (in addition to the usual monthly content).  Everything I learn will be used in the months to come and in future comic projects.  

For those curious, things I'm trying to pin down include:

• Page setup and export settings
• Screen tone values for both light and dark skinned characters
• Layering of screentones for multi-layered rendering
• Brush point sizes for reduced resolution and readability
• Page binding vs. panel layout (in case I ever want to do a printed version)
• Balancing spotted blacks and screentone rendering
• Stylizing sound FX in a visually pleasing way (and associated values)
