Scarlet suit and doodle dump (Patreon)

Hey guys! I only have a few things to share at the moment as I've been on a bit of a cooldown after finished Red Muscle chapter 3. I've still been Red Muscle brained but I'm spending some time thinking about what I want to do with Scarlet from chapter 9 and onward til the end of the story. 

This first image is a really late stage story thing so I won't spoil the specifics for you here (unless that's what the people want??) but I wanted to design a new suit for Scarlet that she would design for herself within the story. I do think her current suit is very flattering and shows off her body in a way that's fun to draw (because it's basically nothing extra, just all her curves) but I had really developed a feeling over time that her sentai/tokusatsu aesthetic was maybe a little bit misleading or misrepresenting Scarlet. This new outfit came about trying to capture the aesthetics more along the lines of both an Eva plugsuit as well as a Matador, and the end result also looks a bit like a cheerleader too and I think that's a really fun look. Maybe you noticed too but any new Scarlet stuff has her sporting a hair clip to push her bangs out of the way and a more pronounced scrunchy or ribbon for her ponytail. I thought it makes her look a little more youthful and cute and I'm planning on putting this change into the narrative too, coming up in chapter 10. It doesn't sound like anything but I'll at least say that Edgar buys Scarlet some hair accessories and it's an act of love that really resonates with Scarlet and she wears that new look for the rest of the comic.

I also threw in some other doodles to test some changes to my comic inking brush. I'm hoping that my B&W studies along with the new brush will help me loosen up and develop a process for comics that's faster so I can reasonably make it through this comic within a few years. Mariel and I have been thinking about Anjo again lately so I have these little doodles of her to remember what I want her to look like. Nothing more to say about her at the moment, but hopefully she will become a big part of my creative output in the future.
