Two things. Where people say iron sights are as capable as optics are completely wrong. If you have nice white targets with black centers, then yes, you can shoot the iron-sighted rifle well. In real world conditions - nope. The ELCAN Specter DR is still awesome.

that handguard in the intro is why I bought a 20incher. was the only longer handguard about a decade ago for a 16inch AND Atower. like the elcan point either 1x close or 4x. glass quality is awesome but so is the price. a true 1 or 6x ... . used to lvpo's though.

Elcans are heavy though. I think nowadays the ACOG with RMR tends to do a lot of the same things.

what I try to avoid. two units plus the offset or 45 cant. thought that leupold d-evo was on the way to something but deadend? hear nothing since the shotshow hype when it was first shown.

wouldn't say the people are wrong about the irons. but say aging eyes and little plates in shadowed bullet traps bunkers... keeps me from competing with irons. can't locate the darn target you can't hit it.
