Commission for @CarnigeLatex and my designing process (Patreon)

Hey Cupcakes! It's been a while since I don't write one of these... I've been quite busy this weekend working on this big commission for @CarnigeLatex  and, with his permission, I'd like to give you guys a tour through my drawing process.

STEP 1: THE DRAGON

The first thing I had to do on this commission was to design an evil-but-sexy-looking dragon.  The only restrictions were that he had to be made of latex and include pink and purple markings. 

Since we were working on a latex character, I needed the character to have a pretty strong silhouette. I gave him pointy ears, fins, and spikes on his head and shoulders, anything to make him look threatening and make him pretty bad cuddling material. 

He loved it. And I did to... I think I failed the non-cuddling material part. _(^ u ^  _)

The client also wanted something related to hypnosis, so we decided on giving him a pink spiral that started on his left chest and ended on his back. After playing a bit with this idea we ended up adding a second spiral, a purple one, on top of the pink one, going from his left chest all the way down his left tight. We also gave him sharp wings and a tail.

The next step was to sketch the character

STEP 2: THE BACKGROUND

The next step was to figure out the background for this picture. He wanted a throne inside a cave...I got a little carried away on the concept art part.

I designed an evil looking chair and a spooky tree for the background, using the spirals.

 "A strange lonely tree stood tall inside the cave, from its leaves a dark substance was dripping, behind the tree there was a vast pool of that same substance and in front of the tree...A throne, where a dark strong dragon was sitting. Waiting..."

...Yeah, I'm a writer. ; w ;

The client loved it, so I started working on the background using the concept art as a reference.

I edited the chair design a bit and...it was done. All I had to do was to add the dragon and some effects. I'm so proud of how this drawing turned out and I hope to do more detailed work like this in the future.
