Question of the day: Are you a fan of LE SSERAFIM ?

Vimeo Dropbox

Password: “caprisun”

Today we will be watching Episodes 1 & 2 of Le Sserafim's documentary 'The World is My Oyster!' 💎

The only other two references we have of Le Sserafim are their appearances on Game Caterers x HYBE and Suga's Haegum Dance challenge with Yunjin and Chaewon. 🔥

This documentary made us realize how cutthroat the K-pop industry can be.

Le Sserafim's journey to becoming the group they are today has been interesting to watch.

Join us on this intense journey to debut 😅

Hi Familia! I hope you are having a great day? afternoon? evening hehe. Thank you as always for the continuous uploads. 💜 QOTD: Nope, not really hehe (No offense to all the fans, okay? we have our preferences hehe 🙏✌️). I'm not that into girl groups but I do randomly listen to some of their songs hehe. Blackpink is one of the girl groups I often listen to, and some of New Jeans. I hope for the other SUNDAYs to come you'll react to some Korean Drama since you are already watching docuseries that are more than 1hr, so Kdrama are also 1hr per ep. But, yeah, majority wins hehe. JIMIN'S BIRTHDAY IS SO NEAR!!! HEHEHE. EXCITED FOR THE CONTENT YOU HAVE FOR JIMIN.

QOTD: ive been a fan of lsrfm since their debut and my bias was Garam, but after the rumours, inspection and she left the group, i kinda just slowly left the fandom and just become a casual listener. its just hard for me to be in the fandom when the fandom itself (and other fandoms) still blamed and bullied her for something that has already been proved is not her fault, but i guess thats one of the harsh reality i have to face in kpop industry

jergens lotion

nah im not a fan they have some good music though

Sakura has been in the industry for a very long time, even longer than bts! she has been in two japanese groups, in which she was active from 2011 till 2018 i think. then she debuted in korea in a girl group named iz*one. chaewon, the leader, was also a member of iz*one. they were both active in iz*one till 2021 when the group disbanded. after that they both signed up with hybe and debuted as lesserafim in 2022. so yes, sakura has a LOT of experience in the industry. she had already been in 3 other groups before lesserafim. crazy to think how she's been active for sooo long and was active even before bts! also yunjin, sakura and chaewon had met before as they participated in the same survival show around 2017.

QODTD: I’ve been slowly getting into Le Sserafim for a while now, I wouldn’t call myself a FEARNOT (their fandom name) yet, but I think I'll eventually be one. The name Le Sserafim is an anagram of the phrase ‘I’m Fearless’ which relates to their debut song and concept. Like I said I’m still new to them but from what I understand Sakura was part of the Japanese girl groups AKB48 and HKT48 before she became a part of the K-pop group Iz*One. Iz*One was formed through a survival show program called ‘Produce 48’ which brought Korean and Japanese contestants together to form a 12-member girl group. Sakura, Chaewon and Yunjin all participated in Produce 48 – Yunjin was eliminated but Sakura placed 2nd and Chaewon placed 10th which meant they were able to debut in Iz*One. Mnet survival shows tend to create temporary groups who only to promote for a limited amount of time, so Sakura and Chaewon promoted with Iz*One from 2018 until it disbanded in 2021, after which HYBE reached out to them. When Yunjin competed in Produce 48 she was a Pledis trainee, and Pledis was eventually brought by HYBE which is why they knew her and reached out to her. I only stan one other 4th gen group (TXT) so I’m not sure if those casting stories are common because in the case of TXT, 4 of them were street cast (similar to how Jin was) but then they still had to audition and be selected for the debut team. Edits: Eunchae is the maknae. Yunjin was born in Korea but grew up in New York.

lesserafim was originally a 6 member group. they even debuted with 6 members but one of the members, garam, left the group a few weeks after the debut due to a certain scandal. garam was in the docu too but she was just skillfully edited out. however she was later proved to have been innocent in the whole scandal. but it was already too late by then.

I just love this group, it's one of the few female groups I follow. I've seen all their reality shows and concerts. I almost consider myself part of the fandom, really. They're incredible. My bias is Kazuha, she's coming out of her shell lately. With the fact that she didn't know Korean very well or the culture, at first she was extremely shy and quiet but over time she's showing herself more and I'm loving it. They're all wonderful! Oh, I've seen this documentary and yes, when I saw it for the first time I was shocked at how heavy it was. Anyway, I'm loving watching it with you. I hope you react to their MVS, I honestly think you'd love the songs! Anyway, thank you so much for choosing to react to this documentary with us! I can't wait for next week! Love you guys

corinne

yay i’m glad you’re giving lsrfm a chance familia! i’ve known of them since they debuted but didn’t become a fan until december mainly bc i was only really into bts and haven’t gotten into a girl group before but now i’m a fan of both lsrfm and nwjns :) LE SSERAFIM is actually an anagram of IM FEARLESS so it doesn’t necessarily mean i’m fearless it’s just that if you scramble the letters you’ll get le sserafim. i know they’re a pretty new group to begin with but so far they’ve been making a name for themselves so if you guys decide to check out more of their stuff after this docu i’ll be so excited to watch with u :) they actually filmed challenges with both jimin and hobi and it’s on their channel (https://youtu.be/4P-jwPrs8no?si=NTtveYLw_GCrqlYy). i think you guys would enjoy watching them interact with bts from their perspective. to answer your question, yes there was a 6th member during the filming of this who actually ended up debuting with them but she was removed from the group a few months later (i only have the most bare minimum of information so i shouldn’t get into it) but yes she was cropped out of shots and completely edited out of the docu (u can actually see a mystery hand in a few of the dancing shots lol)

tanasia

yesss i am a fan of le sserafim! they’re my favorite girl group ~

ema

sakura and chaewon debuted together in izone back in 2018, izone was formed on a survival show called produce48, yunjin was also on the show but was sadly eliminated that’s how they knew of each other. izone was a temporary group their contract was only 2.5 years so they disbanded back in 2021, after disbandment is when hybe scouted them. le sserafim debuted with 6 members but right after garam was announced as a member she got caught in a really bad bullying scandal she eventually got kicked out of the group 2 weeks later, she was proven innocent later on.

julia

QOTD: I'm more of a casual listener, their songs are super good but I don't really watch their content which is how I class myself a fan of people

muna

QOTD: yesss i luv lsrfm i think they’re such a funny and energetic group

Somnia

Yunjin was almost a member of IZ*ONE as she was a popular member of the survival show Produce 48. That's why she was talking about getting a lot of calls from companies, though she was never in a group before. Member replacements are harsh, but I try to look at it as meant to be. For instance you may or may not remember there was a member of Fromis 9 named Jiwon. You guys pointed her out a few times because she was so sassy/funny. People first saw her on a JYP Entertainement survival show called Sixteen in 2014. She was eliminated and the group that resulted became arguably biggest Kpop girl group of all time, called Twice. In that show she was so nervous and unconfident. It wasn't time for her, but thankfully she ended up in Fromis_9. A lot of the other contestants of Sixteen went on to do great things as well. I found it interesting Kazuha had a Korean roommate in Japan, and was able to speak a bit of Korean. It seems like she was meant to become a Kpop Idol. Also, it should be noted IZ*ONE was HUGE. They were super successful, with most of the members going on to further success after they disbanded.

muna

just a suggestion but i think i really liked the structure of this tier when it first started; taking top suggestions in the comments and making it into a poll to vote upon so we kinda know what to expect that following saturday ◡̈

muna

my suggestions for next week; going svt - best friends (ep 31-32) & seungkwan boo’s past life (ep 5-7). if you’re looking to dive into kshows i think the physical 100 is absolutely insane and so entertaining every ep!!!

tesalonika

i'm not sure if i'm a fan of them but i do really love them! i mean i love them but it's kinda different with my love to bts lol. tbh i was not into girl group until le sserafim. they're the only girlgroup i follow. they have so many good songs and i love their personalities too. they're so funny so i hope u will react to their variety show called leniverse for the next month!

tesalonika

i'm so happy that you finally react to le sserafim. thank you so much familia

11am09

From what i remember from the show produce48 ,where a lot of members of AKB48 participated, their training in Japan isn't like in Korea where they train to sing and dance like crazy. So a lot of them were called bad singers compared to Korean trainees. So i think that's what Sakura was talking about, she must have been called a bad singer while in IZ*ONE. I followed IZ*ONE so i knew about Sakura and Chaewon and liked Le Sserafim since predebut

Mina

QOTD: yes i love them, theyve quickly become my favorite girl group ! got into them during antifragile! It would be cool if you guys did like a reaction to at least one song before or after the next eps of the documentary if you wanted to, if so i would recommend antifragile or impurities for sure.

Mina

also i really hope you guys check out the behind the scenes of the tiktok challenges they did with yoongi and hobi sometime its my favorite i love seeing them interact! https://youtu.be/4P-jwPrs8no?si=MXbV-V_KUHI0glP2

Purple Girlz

I'm not a fan, just a casual listener, their songs are great but i don't really watch their content. I do have my favourite which is Yunjin I really like her personality and her solo songs.

veenak

wow so excited familia!! I am a causal listener and have seen few episodes of their shows like Eunchae's star diary and Sakura's show but have never really got to know them in depth..! this is exciting to watch with you guys for the first time and getting to know them finally ig!! lets goooooo!!!!

Shreya

I really think this docu was important for you guys to understand the actual truth of training process since you guys saw bts after the members were finalised and the line up pretty much the same but even bts in their training periods had other members with them who didn’t make it or just left voluntarily I know it may seem harsh but as far as I’ve seen many members who didn’t get to debut in a particular group but later got into other groups said that the group they debuted in actually matched their vibe and they were happy they didn’t get to debut before and it may seem harsh to hear they didn’t matc( the image of the group they were planning but imagine if bts didn’t have like minded people it would have been much more mentally exhausting for that one member who couldn’t matc( the persona they put out after the debut

Shreya

Lmao I think even Mr.son was 10 times more harder on bts too cause they wanted them to match each sec of their movements I think they said that somewhere where they would monitor bts performances by pausing each second and seeing if the arms and legs of the members were aligned or not it’s just brutal being a Trainee but also it’s a necessary evil I guess to succeed in your life

veenak

BTS also had to undergo almost the same process familia!! so basically its like after a training period of 2--3 yrs the debut team among all the trainees will be finalised about 6months to 1 yr before debut but nothing will be confirmed. So that's how Supreme boi could not make it along with BTS. Even for Jimin like how the members told multiple times that he almost didn't debut with them! even they weren't sure till D-1 of the debut!! so yeah that's how harsh the Idol training can be familia!

Alina Alinka

Hybe is known as a company with the best performances and stage presence. For example SM is known as company with the best vocal, YG is rap/hip-hop, JYP is dance. So it is not surprising that Hybe’s performance directors are harsh on trainees and even already debuted groups when it comes to the performance. BTS is the best example for you. Also Le Sserafim won an award as the best female performance group last year!

Cynthia_pk

Loved the reaction Familia.... Btw Familia can we have a separate tier for kdramas?

Auclaire D'Lune

i know nothing about le sserafim and am enjoying getting to know them through your reactions .. i hope you get to watch produce at some point (either girls/boys) .. i know maybe a lot of it are dramatized for the show but it portrays how harsh the trainee process of debuting as an idol group nonetheless .. and after watching three seasons of 3 idol groups debuting through the show ,, nothing about "kpop idol cut-throat training" really surprises me anymore ..

Nele

yes, i’m a fan of them !! i really am so happy that you guys are watching this right now — maybe you guys could also check out (whenever you want or if you even want) some funny content like episodes of leniverse from them in the future, that would be a good contrast to this intense docu rn !! i just love their songs, they’re true performers on stage and also so adorable and funny 🥰 they just have this real vibe and energy about them that draws me to them. the only group (other than bts !! 💜) i’m really following.

Nele

same same, the love to bts will always be on another level, but something about them just made me a fan - they're also the only girl group i follow !! <3

msathenas

yes i am a fan of the fimmies !

Sarah F

I really like le sserafim! Im glad u guys seem interested in them, svt, & txt bc those are really the only groups whose content I watch fairly often. Also U guys should def watch I-land one day to see Mr. Son be harsh like that dance teacher! Helped me imagine what he was like w BTS haha

Faith

Would love for you guys to watch a survival show at some point. I think it really helped me appreciate how much trainees go through to just get the chance to debut and how incredibly hard they work. I-land might be a good place to start since you guys seem to be drawn to the Hybe groups specifically, but you can pick whichever show sounds good to you. Boys Planet was also very good (not Hybe trainees) but I'm sure there are many others that other more versed folks can suggest.

bub

eunchae reminds me so much of baby jungkook LOL! theyre both so talented and have those big bambi eyes

madi

yesss let’s go lesserafim!! <3 they’re all actually so hilarious, yall would love their variety show content fs

amberrr

i would love for you guys to watch i-land

Linnea Gilbertson

I love Le Sserafim, they caught my attention right out of the gate. I remember all the talk after Iz*One disbanded about Chaewon and HYBE and their secret talks. Then all the Sakura stuff with her meeting with HYBE Japan. Hitman Bang talked about recruiting Kazuha and Yun Jun himself, about how they went to America and Europe to find the members of the group. I do seriously feel bad for all the Garam stuff, because if you take this documentary for example she must have also went thru alot to get to debut and then to be hit with even more stress and hardship after debut at such a young age(16). What you guys don't know is the group debuted with 6 members but one got hit with a bullying scandal that caused them to become a 5 member group. Thank you for watching this.

mia

the 6th member got kicked out unfortunately due to an bullying scandal, everyone was attacking her and asking her to be removed from the group. which companies don’t take bullying scandals lightly so they usually kick the person out no matter what and don’t really wait for any proof or clarification. it’s unfortunate but i think they adjusted well to being 5 members, i mean they had no choice but it’s still hard because she was in fact innocent. also im more so a casual fan of them i really enjoy their music & performances, sakura is one of my biases she has lived so many lives like she’s done so much, that it seems like she has no limit to what she can try/be.

zizijoonie

The way i screamed !!!!!!!

tesalonika

familia will you upload the next reaction today?

Anessa Nurjannah

Can you guys reaction to Enhypen journey? From the show iland survival until debut? They have more detail about how made idol in korea even they from the show. Pleaseeee thankyou fams🤍
