2018 was such an amazing year for BTS and Army!

We learned that BTS was the youngest and first idol group to receive this honorable award in South Korea!

If we feel so much pride in being Army, we can only imagine how proud the members made their parents.👏🥲

Familia we have watched everything you recommended for the Love Yourself era now and omg we have learned so much about BTS' journey in 2018.

Thank you so much for the recommendations and guidance, we feel as if we got to relive 2018 with you. 💜

I was wondering what you were going to react to this week!! Familia, what's next??

Can't believe you didn't know about this awards, it was such a proud moment!! They were so nervous and happy, i love their proud smiles looking at JK, especially Joon with his proud dad smile 😭😭 If I'm not mistaken, this awards show was more for actors, comedians and MC's stuff like that, and beside them there was only Red Velvet there as kpop group but I'm not totally sure, it's been a while 😅

this ceremony gets me every time bro 😭 going to have the best morning while I ignore my work to watch these two episodes 😁

Sino-Korean means of Chinese origin! Numbers (1 = il, 2 = ee, 3 = sam, etc) vs native Korean numbers like (1 = hana, 2 = dool, 3 = set, etc) are both used for different things like native Korean numbers are used for counting things/people but Sino-Korean is used for most other things. Even in this video they refer to their Billboard 200 #1 using Sino-Korean instead of pure Korean, for example. I'm surprised you've never noticed this before with the numbers bc they use them a lot! A lot of Korean language & culture are influenced by China bc of historical stuff u can look up if ur curious haha

I'm so happy to revisit this moment with you, Familia. I think it's official and prestigious award from government to the people who have tremendous impact and contribution for the nation in cultural and entertainment industries. And this event was televised by SBS. If I'm not mistaken, Yoo Jaesuk (one of the Yoo Quiz host - he's really well known MC in SK, and loved by many people) was also awarded in this occasion.

The announcer didn't describe their roles, just noted some of their prominent contributions. No one really confines them to these roles anymore. We especially don't use the "Lead" title anymore as it denotes a hierarchy that just doesn't apply to the 10 year old team. The "Main" titles come with a little additional responsibility so we maintain them but no one is differentiating between Jimin, Tae, and Jin as vocalists these days or implying that j-hope and Suga are second-string rappers. If you were attempting to appropriately describe them with regard to their responsibilities, you should have include Dance and Performance Leader for j-hope and, as you included sub-rapper for Jungkook, including sub-vocalist for j-hope would have been appropriate too. And the rap line should all have main songwriter titles. Anyway, my point is, these "roles" shouldn't be proliferated as if they're something accurate and official. The only place we ever see them broken down like this are in amateur intro-videos made by multis. They do more harm than good and undervalue the contributions of most of the members.

Omggg didnt know you still added this on the list familia.. Thank you so much!! For context of how big this award is.. It's not like any award show, this is an award ceremony that is conducted directly by the government to acknowledge people who have contributed to the promotion and spread of Korean culture and assets. It spans through various fields as well not just idols and actors. BTS was literally among seniors and veterans in the industry that's why they're so nervous.. There are levels to the cultural merit award as well. I believe they received the Fifth Class but still such a big deal because nobody receives it as such a young age. If you search the recipients of the award, they are all veteran actors, singers, musicians, directors or writers. Lee Soon Jae, the man joking about how he thought they dance in military suits, received the award as well, he received the Second Class i believe and he's 83 or 84 that time. If you watch Kdramas, he's a well known actor.. So yeah it really is a big deal to be awarded such a high ranking class award at such a young age. JK was literally 21 when this happened. It's insane!! Im not sure what kind of award is the equivalent of this in the US to put perspective on how huge this is but i guess seeing them say of how huge honor this is to their entire family name is proof already of how big this award means.. We have so many proud moments as ARMYs!! Such great people the men we follow!!!! :)

Im so proud of them. Being the youngest recipient ever to receive this award. I am fans of the right people.
