When I first discovered One Piece about 8 years ago or so, back when I was dub only, the English song captivated me immediately. The lyrics and music...I can't easily put in worlds how I felt. They speak to the audience directly: "Come on board and bring along, All your hopes and dreams. Together we will find everything That we’re looking for." It took into account that the viewers are also part of the crew along every step of the journey. It is in the name "WE ARE." The nostalgia's making me emotional. Here's a secret: the lyrics of most One Piece openings and many endings have tidbits that are teases about something spoilery. And not just the obvious 'the One Piece is friendship', there's something else briefly hidden in plain sight for only those with context to recognize. Can't wait until you catch up, the first official episode of the final saga of the anime just aired this week and it is too good.

Man, the English dub version of We Are is so unbelievably great. I totally get what you mean, when I was rewatching the show in dub, it made me appreciate the song so much more. Being able to belt out that song at the top of my lungs and feel like I'm part of the adventure was magical. I'm so excited to be caught up with this damn show, but obviously I'm also terrified of running out of episodes.
