I have some answers. --Katara's parents (Hakoda and Kya) were both non-benders. This confirms bending can skip generations. I think even Toph is the same. --In episode 1, Aang and Katara's children were all briefly named: Bumi, Kya, and Tenzin. Obviously Bumi is named after Bumi, and Kya after Katara's mother. --It will be confirmed that 2 benders can indeed have a non-bender child.

Toph's parents, of course, I forgot about them too. I guess there really aren't many parents that we know much about in this series other than the Fire Nation's messed up family dynamic, so yeah I suppose it's understandable that I haven't thought about it until now. Also, I have already recorded my Episode 11 reaction where I have this exact same discussion again, haha.
