What apart from the gass was toxic about that? you said youself after he just standing for what he belives in. I hate how its seems like all Masculinity gets called Toxic Masculinity now days. But why we even putting femininity or masculinity after that word? Everone can be Toxic after all, so dose it realy make sens. That said, if there was to be a conenter for "Toxic Masculinity" oh boy, wait till next arc. :o I realized Luffy has advantages with piercing weapons Normally they would create a hole and rip apart you flesh. But because he is rubber the holes will be a lot smaller as the hole just stretch out after impact. I dont think its the 90 stuff, i think that this arc is just not all that well put together. For me One Piece starts being One Piece starting next episode.

The reason I mentioned toxic masculinity (which was kind of a joke) is because he was talking about how he deserves it because he "lost to his emotion" which feeds into the idea that emotions are weakness - which can be a dangerous way to think. But keep in mind it's not his fault, he was saying that because he essentially had trauma and was manipulated into thinking he deserved it. So yes, great that he had strong beliefs, but unfortunate that those beliefs were thinking that he 'deserved' to be punished because of his emotions.
