Sometimes something as hidden as background extras holds a lot of meaning, especially when Oda is as in depth at world building as he is without much effort needed. A reader noticed one of the pirates and one of the marines in this war look identical (only the pirate is seen in the anime), and Oda said in an SBS that they are twins who are enemies by circumstance. Andre and Candre remind me of Luffy and Garp, or Koby.

Tbh I always thought that Gum Gum Bullet was his weakest move, but apparently it is indeed considered an advance version of Gum Gum Pistol. Part of why I always thought this is because it's the same move he uses to finish off Usopp during their duel, so I thought of it as Luffy trying to defeat him while causing the least amount of damage. Fun fact, the first time he ever used it was against Don Krieg

See, I always felt like it was a notion of respect using one of his strongest moves against Usopp. He wasn't going easy on him, because he knows that Usopp can take it. Man, I love that Usopp/Luffy fight.
