"In 2023, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. They promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The Ayo-Team."

Ayo in panel 1, looking up (and up, and up): this has awoken something in me

Whoa. It's been 5 whole months since we saw Bubbles.

Ayo reminds me of people I've met who tend to try and glean the wants of the people around them and act on them before being asked. Apparently that's something you see sometimes with people who live in a situation with an authority figure who has poorly defined boundaries. Since rules are either nonexistent or inconsistently enforced, they learn to pay close attention to the emotional state of the authority figure in the room and try to cater to their needs to avoid negative attention. It's kinda tough to watch. The saddest part is attempts to get someone who does this to stop are usually seen as negative attention.

I have a friend (and ex) who lives in that place. They panic when asked a question and refuse to answer until they think they know what answer they're supposed to give. It can be as simple as "How was your day?" and has caused many fights over the years because "You should be grateful I'm trying to please you! I'm doing it for you!" It comes, as you say, from a history of abusive authority figures. After 20+ years there is understanding, and there are workarounds, but sometimes I want to say "Chinese or Greek is not a moral maze! Make a choice!"

I hate finding out I’m under duressed for an event.
