What I was assuming would happen: Basilisk arrests Bubbles on her way to Faye's house, Faye sees her getting hustled into a cop car from across the street, Bubbles looks at her imploringly to say "I came back for you" as well as to ask Faye to stick up for her, Faye doesn't get it and turns away from her sobbing, Bubbles is permanently traumatised and spends the rest of her days in robot jail, friendless and alone. But this is better

That said, I'm torn. The writer part of me acknowledges that now is the best possible time for Bubbles' tragic backstory, while the parts of me that are robot enthusiast and lesbian just want Faye and Bubbles to have sloppy makeouts on the couch. At any rate, I'm happy that this part of the plot is progressing. Corpse Witch is the closest thing to an actual villain that this comic has had in ages, and I hope to see her thoroughly punched soon enough.
