I gotta say I have loved these last few pages. The late night heart to heart talks between Marten and Faye were always some of my favorites in the early QC days, always a highlight of my yearly archive dive.

Hah. That title was amazing. I bet it is the Jeph case of butts disease showing.

The panel without speech balloons has me getting emotional about their long friendship history --- funny, heartfelt, awkward, unrequited, unconditional, goofy, and more. Awwww.

Uh, "she?"

This. I still love QC but it's much harder to show really in-depth relationships between the characters when there's so many of them to cover now.

... Is Jeph ending the comic. :0

It's been a while now, but back at the beginning of this arc, he made a post specifically stating that he's not ending the comic. I am curious to know which set of characters are going to get loaded on the bus and shipped out though, or whether he plans to follow two threads.

Panel 3 feels very 'classic QC' to me. Great job with this storyline.

I wonder if his intent is to "fork" the comic? If anything, I think cubetown has more interesting potentials. I think he's run Northampton pretty dry, plot wise.

Ursus Ridens

Jeph's been in Canada for a while now, & I suspect that there is a much less Hamp-weirdness within easy reach in his brain. I wonder if there will be QC strips set in Halifax. Will Tai get a job there, and Dora open up Coffee of Doom-Atlantic? Or will all the action take place with Claire and Marten being slightly seasick among a chaos of truly odd AIs?)

FYI, I have been reading QC for....dang, like basically 2 decades now. And that fourth (lower left) panel literally just fulfilled all my greatest hopes for the Faye/Marten relationship -- I.e. that they would both be cool and just be happy for each other. Looking up at the stars, not knowing what comes next, but kinda ready for it no matter what.

hnnnngggg they've grown so much ahhh I love what their friendship has become

oh shoot this one made me cry. Thanks, Jeff! Really outstanding writing.

I feel the same. I hope that Jeff keeps going with the comic, but that panel feels like the end of the series with Martin and Faye. It is a great piece of art.

When I get sad, I look at the 4th panel (lower left) drawing of Faye and I'm not sad anymore. Prettiest Faye ever.
