You just need to find one person to pay that…

Anonymous

I have a feeling that the word of mouth through the AI channels will find SOMEONE.

Miyaa

He comes back and pays the $1500. Oh no.

As the friend who always gets asked to play therapist….plz y’all I am not a professional

Errol Lobo

Suddenly Faye is Yay's therapist

Michael

Malpractice insurance is high when you're not licensed.

KingAtticus

Aw, bless his sweet heart. If only he can listen as well as Faye does 😂

Yvonne Hanafee

Well, Yay isn’t as emotionally exhausting as Pinkbot here, and “stop being so damn manipulative or I will hit you with my largest hammer” is probably the kind of therapy they need anyway.

Michael Boettger

One or two clients, even short term, will help solve any cash flow problems that Union Robotics may still have.

Andrew

For those prices she should at least offer bad legal advice as well!

Dracon Atrox

"My specialty is PHYSICAL repair, not mental! I'm already mental enough as it is!" Though, it would be a good idea to get some basic training in AI mental health, would be a good way to differentiate from every other repair shop out there.

Yvonne Hanafee

Been a while since anyone managed to exasperate a Georgia accent out of Faye…

Matt Grayson

Yay would be a great therapist. “Your problem is that you are neither intelligent nor interesting. Self-loathing is entirely appropriate.”

Anthony Gaglianese

I feel this pain. Sometimes, people need to be gently reminded with the subtlety of a speeding bus. To the face. On fire.

fizzlefist

My old radio engineer boss once put in a grossly overpriced bid on a job he didn’t want to take. They accepted it.

TwoRavens

Ah, the classic "Fuck Off" quote. Usually works great, until it doesn't.

Grace Kieser

I think they've been doing better. They have been established as a business from at least two years to a few weeks!

Faye knows her limits which is more than I can say for actual therapists I have seen in the past.

Shawn K. Younkin

How to tell someone politely that you DON'T want to help them... XD XD

KCkittysnores

Here I was paying you in good honest praise, and you had to get all unreasonable about it.

Verteiron

This has the potential to go very badly if this guy goes on robot Yelp and starts spreading BS.

Andrew L Butula

Or not even "don't want to," more like "would love to actually help, but don't trust that you'll actually be helping."

Matt Grayson

Faye's expression in panel ... the last panel .. reminds me of her talk with Marty outside the Library when she realizes that she does, in fact, have to deal with her feelings for Bubbles. She used stronger language then, IIRC...

Mitsuki Ayane

poor Faye doing her best but doing the best you can talking to a brick wall doesn't really do much. ~<3

I once quoted three times my usual rate on a job I knew I couldn’t do, to avoid saying no to a good client who unfortunately hated the word no. This was how I discovered that I myself do not understand what money means to people with a lot of it. They didn’t even blink, and I spent the next nine months making a lot of money, doing a terrible job, and ultimately losing that client’s business for good. A straight no, badly as that would have gone, would have been cleverer.

Am Queue

Assuming, of course, you were able to make the 'no' stick...

Few things are harder than convincing someone who thinks you know what you're doing that you, in fact, do not. Straight up to their face, "This is beyond my capabilities, I will fail and disappoint both of us!" and they're all "You'll figure it out!" Fuck that. Been there, have the scars, do not want. Faye, dearheart - charge more.

OldGoat

Been there, done that. Sometimes a high quote works. Sometimes.

Thomas Halpin

This is excellent, and perfect, like, laurel and hardy style comedy

Bagge

Honestly, Faye should just be a bartender..

Yelling Bird

WHEN I GIVE A PROFESSIONAL THAT MUCH MONEY THERE'S USUALLY WAY MORE BODILY FLUIDS INVOLVED!

VoxOrbisBrad

If you say that to Faye it'll be way more bodily fluids of the sort you don't intend, YB.

Mad Marie

Folks who should make more money for listening to folks air out their inner selves: Bartenders, Hair Stylists & Barbers, Robot Repair Technicians.

This is what it's like being a crisis helpline responder. Me: perhaps therapy could be helpful for you Them: well yeah, that's why I'm here Me: we are an acute crisis service and cannot help you with your long term issues as we are not therapists or doctors Them: but I can keep coming back, right? Me, eye twitching: I sure can't stop you

David Durant

Osteopaths, podiatrists, gardeners.. Basically anyone that's been paid to do a thing with the general public where they can't escape. At least dentists don't have so much of that issue....

And their anxiety won't LET them transition to proper care on their own. Assign them a time with a relevant doctor, let them bring a friend for support. My best friend had to pick the doctor, set the time, and drag me to the appointment to get me started on the therapy THAT I WANTED IN THE FIRST PLACE. Also, please remember alcohol is the only Over-The-Counter anxiety medicine we can buy.

Comics Ladybird

I was about to suggest him that he gets a rubber ducky for that purpose, but I’d wager rubber duckies had reached the singularity too and would want to be paid as well.

Summer Sudbrink

I was trying to figure out what to call him, and my first thought was Bubblegum. But that's too close to Bubbles. My next thought was Hubba Bubba but I didn't like that either. So now I think he should just be called Bubba, because he is so antithetical to the "Bubba" stereotype.

dragonkittyrawr

I dunno he's clueless like a stereotypical Bubba, might not be that antithetical
