i mean its a fair point

Hope

If I had infinite bodies I would also spend all my time with as many pets as possible

Dang, Yay needs to perform an extraction of Hercules. Technically it's not eavesdropping so it's legal?

Fart Captor

Omg they look hot in that jumper Also I need those shoes

Marven Balori

i love their outfit, so cute

Matt Grayson

Yay behaves! Well done.

Michael Boettger

I'm getting the impression that Roko is pissed at Yay for just appearing uninvited. As well as disbelief as to Yay's cluelessness.

Matt Grayson

Where else could Yay go with Hercules except Roko’s? Yay only has (have?) a charging pod in this building.

Nicolas Demers

THANK YOU for standing up for yourself Elliot. When he's not in bouncer mode he can be a bit of a doormat. Happy Clinton will get to meet Hercules!

It's taken me about 65 years and I'm just as baffled

Searcher

You've scrutinized all of the media on human copulation in only 65 years?

BobC

Remember, Yay has super-powers. The downside of choosing to practice restraint is that the resulting frustration must vent SOMEWHERE.

Anonymous

😂🤣😹

Darnel D Cooper

I'm thinking the complaint being put to someone with a bread fetish wil gain little sympathy.

Kyle Rudy

I can't even begin to process the lived experience of processing that much information. The sum total length of all romance and pornography in all media formats is far longer than human civilization's existence. All that, and they find themselves surprised by new behavior? Truly, the Kolmogorov complexity of sexuality is awe-inspiring.

The cat person in me says Yay is not wrong. The shipper in me is like, Yay, let the poor awkward boys get it on in peace already. >.<

KCkittysnores

I’m super jealous of how cute Yay is in that romper. They don’t have to worry about how to pee. NOT FAIR.

BobC

BTW, a huge thanks to all of you here. After a lifetime being unimpressed with manga, one of you recently mentioned "The Two of Them Are Pretty Much Like This", which is the first manga to totally own me. And I'm not even sure what it's "really" about. Kinda like Seinfeld, or something. I then searched for other manga that others associated with that one, and stumbled across "The Dangers in My Heart". Blew me away. Others followed. I truly feel I've either been swept up in Dorothy's tornado, or fallen down Alice's rabbit hole. Probably both at once. Which brought me back to why I previously didn't like manga: What I saw was blatant over-sexualization of high school girls, meaningless emotional whirlwinds, and just too many awkward plot pivots. I now realize that what others had previously shared wasn't in my grasp to view from their perspective. I could go on about how my perceptions have changed, and are changing, but the bottom line is that I had to learn to get into the character's perspective of their fellow characters, and the character's internal perspectives. For example, how even a slightly pretty girl can be a bombshell to a kid with raging hormones. How the artist's choice of perspective or exaggeration can convey what the text can't (or shouldn't). No, the character isn't being drawn inconsistently: The character is drawn to convey the deeper circumstance. Anyhow, didn't mean to go on that long. Just wanted to say THANKS!

Agreed. I never would have pegged Yay for being a sneakerhead but they have a lot of bodies to put into shoes and a lot of disposable income.

Frank Wales

Comic number is 4600, but yesterday’s is 4559 - did I miss eight weeks somewhere?

Sleepy John

How is one supposed to revel in virtual omnipotence when one can be summarily dismissed from petting a cat?

Anonymous

Who would win? One all-powerful God AI or a Big Soft Boi

Jon Guyer

Yes. Yes you did. You weren’t supposed to notice. Now you’ve gone and made this difficult. Hold still…

Anonymous

I just noticed something that I hadn't caught before. In panel 4, at the bottom of the "V" in Yay's outfit, you can see a distinct line indicating something, a vertical seam (navel?) of some kind. I went back and realized the feature was there yesterday, too, particularly in panel 2. Is this something I've been overlooking or is there an explanation, because navels are for attachment of umbilical cords and somehow I don't see that being part of the Yay backstory.

BobC

And now QC feels like it's been flipped right-to-left. Weird.

Patrick McGuire

Is that a navel Yay is displaying in the last panel?

Anonymous

I want Yay’s jumpsuit

BobC

I wouldn't wear Yay's jumpsuit without double-sided tape. And I'm a guy.

Scotty

Anyone else hear squeaking from Yay's sneakers in panel 2?

Dylan T

Why do I feel like this statement going to lead to some sort of shenanigans for yay down the line

Shane Wegner

Elliot is putting those bouncer skills to work.

Onyx

Elliot using his bouncer backbone (I think of all of them he's the least intimidated by Yay), and Yay has their pissy pants on! I love the pissed off teen look.

Anonymous

Oh sure, she may be a supercomputer in a low sci-fi world, but I'll never believe that any being, machine or not, can watch ALL porn. The span of it expands as fast as the universe!

Anonymous

I'm glad that Elliot did make Clinton coming over a priority even with Yay. It is progress from doormat to full cinnamon bun!

Anonymous

They have a navel?

Anonymous

What an ace mood

Anonymous

I love Yay’s outfit so muuuch

Bagge

Pintsize: "I have also scrutinized human media on the subject. Maybe we should be best friends?" Yay: "Maybe we should not."

David Durant

Obligatory XKCD : https://xkcd.com/592

Stephen Wells

Headcanon: in the final panel, Roko is wearing nothing below the waist except a bagel.

Anonymous

Those are, in fact, nice kicks. I'm going to see if I can find them on Wish. I'm sure they'll be fine.

Anonymous

Maybe Yay should adopt their own cat.

Anonymous

Someone should get them their own cat.

Matthew Van Gangelen

Kidnapping someone’s pet would probably be considered theft of personal property in the eyes of most legal systems. So maybe not:

Some Ed

One of us misread Yay's statements. I read nothing that suggested that this was new behavior. Just that they thought they had an argument that would work and they don't understand why it didn't.

Anonymous

All the other id's with the pumped up kicks

SheepFace2000

Yay looks adorable frustrated

Mark

Why are Roko's eyes closed? Is she just trying to ignore Yay? Also, an immensely powerful AI shouldn't look as cutely waifish as Yay does in panel 2.

Ursus Ridens

This is Questionable Content #4600. That's a _lot_ of strips. Thanks, and well done, Jeph. Do keep it up.

Comics Ladybird

Meh. Those are only 46 minutes of comics, because the previous day’s was 45:59.

Anonymous

I'm not sure Yay's an AI. That's always been an ambiguous point. One thing to note is sometimes she has a neck-line like other AI, but sometimes she doesn't (like in this one). We also know she has multiple bodies. She also seems able to ignore AI norms. My suspicion was she was originally human, but is a self-upgraded cyborg. I suspect she may be closer to Major Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell. (Also, I use 'she' loosely. I suspect Yay is agendered. As she has shown in the past she had the capacity to afford whatever body she wanted, and yet she went with a very androgynous design.)

Anonymous

As a long time reader and a gay man I am delighted you have added a m|m relationship. Aside from Marty's former boss, I don't recall any m|m representation. Thank you!

Pejo

How did no one comment on Yay's speech bubbles being square like an AI's in this one instead of round like a human's as they usually are Y'all are normally Extremely On Top Of It, especially with 40 of you mentioning the strip number

Anonymous

It may be the genderless vampire vibe that they give off but I REALLY like Yay

Anonymous

I wonder if they are toning down the uncanny valley quality of their voice now that they spend more time arounds humans and regular AIs.

Matt Grayson

Yay, did you consider Google? Or perhaps the Wikipedia disambiguation page for copulation would point you in the right direction.

Darnel D Cooper

Yay is "Learning". They decided on interacting with others instead of just being the large AI presence on the outskirts of awareness - I think its cool. Yay is learning about social right and wrong, accepting others at face value, and recognizing limits as part of relationships. I can tell that Roko is very proud of them, but doesn't want to queer the deal by heaping too much praise. The only downer is the hope that Jeph is not angling for a "crash" of Yay because of all this social improvement.
