I wonder if this is going to turn into a parable on how to be good allies. Hannelore has already accepted a semi-symbolic role at the top of the AI advocacy group. If she's super-effective at getting humans to support the group and its goals, might there be push-back from some AIs who accuse the human members of trying to 'take over' the group to make themselves feel better about themselves?

No doubt Hanners has the intellectual wherewithal to adjust what she means by "a lot of money" to Marigold's perceptions. That's the sort of quantitative thing she thrives on. Now she asks Marigold, "How long can you live on that at your current rate of spending?" That makes a very good reality check.

Marigold! Repeat after me. I am NOT rich. Seriously, say it. I am NOT rich! Now look for financial help from an organization which has an express written policy that outlines their fiduciary responsibility to their customer. Then, cautiously evaluate their proposals for how they plan to divide your money to preserve your wealth, provide you with income, and invest maybe a third of your money into growth for your future. Then set up a mechanism so that the new cash coming in will automatically be invested into this plan going forward, the goal being to keep you from "accidentally" buying a motorboat or Lamborghini Huracan or committing other financial errors.
