Who is the Jackwagon again?

Miyaa

Why not ask Femto?

Alacrity Fitzhugh

Ah, the meat of the problem. And, Femto.

Andrea Andrew

I hope this is going in the right direction.

Anonymous

Femto is about to propose a simple get-rich-quick scheme involving a weird red necklace and the power of friendship.

Simon Green

I continue to love Femto.

Michael Boettger

I don't think Randall Monroe is quite solvent enough to pull this off. Maybe Bezos? And yes, Fento, we see you there dear.

Spoogle McGee

As a Patreon, I demand Femto doing a sexy dance.

Yonatan Zunger

I am totally here for Roko meeting Silicon Valley billionaires. Honestly, I'm here for pretty much Roko anything at this point.

LH

*Landon Monroe ... unless you were deliberately confusing him with the rocket-scientist-cum-webcartoonist

Joel Bateman

They could always sell naked anatomically correct AI calenders. I'd definitely buy one...more so if it had Millie in it. All that cake~

shes femto

Matt

Femto will be the key to all of this, I just know it

Anonymous

That is Femto.

As a patreon I demand Femto to just continue being Femto

orangejuicenut

Femto is the rock holding the universe together.

BobC

Femto has no existential crisis. Femto continues to be.

Matt Grayson

Y’know, “Femto” could be short for “the cutest damn character in this comic” or “hungry for your souls.” It fits.

BobC

Femto is where The Dude wishes to Abide.

Anonymous

Femto will continue until someone acknowledges them.

Anonymous

We are all Femto.

Dylan T

And I continue to have questions

Nicholas A Wagner

The way things are going, Roko is going to end up making the body assignment dude mad and all excon ai will end up with random appliciances from goodwill with non functional arms taped to them as boddies..

Maurice Kessler

But they're spending more money on recidivism and remediation, no?

Sleepy John

Keep up the good work, Femto.

Anonymous

Maybe she should take over this company, too.

Bagge

Poor rich dude :-(

Anonymous

Whatever happened to the massive donations Yay made way back when Roko started working for this cause?

Anonymous

Is Femto a name or a state of existence?

Anonymous

Femto, what are you contributing?

Anonymous

Link for all the people that forgot about it: https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=4035 and following pages.

Brent

I mean... There's a good chunk of us here because Google didn't like a nudie robot picture

Femto is obviously a deity and could simply make it so with a snap of the fingers. None wish to acknowledge Femto so it is not done.

Nicholas A Wagner

Large number of morally ambiguous AIs who want bodies, a mad scientist who wants to build a giant particle cannon but has money problems. Two problems needing a common solution?

Yonatan Zunger

I mean, putting on my "yes I am actually a Silicon Valley exec" hat: two obvious solutions would be to donate factory seconds (since this is a robotics company and there are no doubt a lot of them; financially this turns them into a tax write off) and to have some kind of testing program where they get to beta test new bodies. In both cases they aren't getting perfect bodies, but they'll be getting something a hell of a lot better than they would otherwise. Also in both cases the huge obstacle would be product liability law, so the condition for this would be for Roko or someone to cut a deal with the state legislature to get them a liability waiver for whatever they donate. Which a bunch of people would oppose, possibly for good reason - these are known problematic bodies and their recipients would be without any of the usual legal protections - but would also keep them in much worse bodies in practice. And this would be a legit debate and everyone would get very angry at the company for not being willing to accept liability and/or not giving top quality bodies, but would completely miss the reason this happened in the first place, which is that there wasn't money to do that, the company is nearly insolvent anyway, and the government sure as hell isn't going to fund it because they don't care. Welcome to the sausage factory.

Hugh Eckert

Femto just pawn in game of life.

Some Ed

I think we all continue to have questions. The big question is, Can we articulate them well enough that somebody else can understand them? Also, will anybody pay enough attention to understand it even if it's articulated well enough? The answer for me for both of those questions is generally 'No.' But that's OK. It's probably more important for me to find the answer than it is for someone else to be able to provide it. There's probably a few more questions needed to get to someone else providing it anyway...

Some Ed

Well, nobody except Tamara Macadam, presumably 6 other people, and now me. I'm uncertain if you're one of those or not. But I suspect if we work together to expand awareness, it's possible that Femto will receive sufficient recognition, and it will happen. All hail Femto!

Some Ed

Presumably bodies sold "at cost" would be cheaper than the bodies they currently have available, and presumably, the factory has jobs available, or would have jobs available if they took on this extra work, so could hire more ex-con AIs. That said, that's still probably just drops in this Hoover Dam... Also, they'd need to be really careful about how they hired those ex-cons, because it would be very easy for this to appear to be exploitative, and it'd probably look like it's too soft on crime in any event. :/

Wasn't that his brother, Femto? No one ever listens to Femto.

Hanelores father?
