Opus the Poet

T.S. Elliot was an ass of a poet. The point of poetry is to communicate, and Elliot threw so much Greek into his poems that even those of us who are polyglots but without working ability in Greek didn't understand large swaths of his oeuvre. And as you might guess from my name and title I did a lot of poetry writing and reading or performing.

Greek, Latin, German, Italian, French, Sanskrit... they certainly benefit from having a couple of pages of explanatory notes to hand.

Is the writing part Liz's problem? I thought the real problem was that she didn't know what to *research*. Surely writing it up is several steps down the line from there...
