They showed us the gore to make us hate Dexter. After 8 years of "America's favorite serial killer" and "America's loveable serial killer", now the writers are atoning for this by showing the gore and trying to make us hate him. All it did was make us feel like idiots. It was fantasy, not real. We didn't need to suffer the consequences for heavens sake.

And thank you for hanging in for all this. You are expecting the worse but its even worse than you expect. I'll wait til you are ready. Haven't watched it a second time and dread watching it again but will feel comfortable watching it with you.
