It was sooooo good to have you back with Lucifer so soon. This second half of season 5 is my favourite, I think, although I love season 6 too. As you love Chloe, I think you will LOVE her even more this half season and into season 6- I certainly did. I won't explain why as no spoilers but I think you will feel the same. God coming to earth is really messing with Lucifer isn't it but I get it- millenia of suppressed emotions concerning his feelings about his father and his forced time in Hell are going to get in the way of everything until Lucifer finds resolution. Like you, I loved the actual dinner scene, it was funny yet powerful also. I think God is being 'cryptic' because if he explains the details then I suppose he might feel he is taking away free will in his eyes and I assume he wants his children (and humanity) to not be told what to do or control them but let them find their own way. I remember Amenadiel back in season 2 when Uriel died, saying God could have prevented all of the hurt but if he had interfered then he would have been controlling them and the situation and taking away their free will, even if it meant pain or death. I don't know for sure but that is what I think. Whether God is right to take this 'mysterious ways' path or not, maybe we will find out. I wouldn't worry too much about angels and who does what etc as this Lucifer universe chooses its own story where the angels are concerned only using some mythology from the Neil Gaiman story comic books and the Bible in order to flesh out the characters and their stories. As I love your reactions and theories and comments so much I am incredibly excited about the next episode! I can not wait to see what you make of it. The main story is forefront in this half of the season and into season 6 and I consider the police procedurals to be the side line. However, as you have deduced Lucifer uses his experiences with the LAPD to learn about humanity, himself and work through his emotions so I don't dislike the parallels but agree with you that sometimes I am more interested in the main story and the mythology. (So were the scriptwriters!) However, as half the characters work for the LAPD we are going to see some of that side of things in moving the story forward. Thank you so much, Andres, for another thoughtful and expressive reaction. Episode 10 (I can't WAIT!)

Also in answer to your question about Lucifer Netflix. Season 5 was going to be the last and was released in two parts Part A 1-8 and part B 9-16 (AGES apart- the wait was excruciating) The ratings for part A were excellent and Lucifans were tweeting to Netflix all the time asking for part B. The team were recording the final episode 16 when Netflix asked for a season 6 so the final episode ending was tweaked in order to carry the story on into season 6 and instead of a montage showing how it all ended up - a sort of finale what happened to all the characters, the scriptwriters fleshed out that ending and created more story to explain in more detail in 10 new episodes how each character ended up where they ended up and why, and this became season 6. The scriptwriters have explained all of this in various interviews to be found on YouTube if you are interested although it might lead to spoilers so for now maybe better avoided. BTW Lucifans are still talking about the Show on Twitter, going to comicon conventions to meet the cast in various countries and often #LuciferNetflix and #TomEllis can still be found trending on Twitter even though the Show finished well over a year ago! It is genuinely crazy!
