I'll repeat my reply to Jay: "The color is completely real, but much more subtle to the naked eye. By capturing enough images, I can pull the color out of the gray with software. The colors denote the mineral composition of the surface, with blues being titanium-rich areas, and orange areas containing more iron and feldspar. "
