Alex, don't know if you remember our chats about AI from like 2 years ago... Since then, much has changed and AI, techbros and AI users have become something of a bane in the various art communities. I never have and never will use AI to generate an entire or most of the image for me, but as a photobasher I'm finding it useful as a stock image generator I can use to cut bits out of, as photobashers do. I don't have ethical qualms because there is so much overpaint and my own 'manual' labor that I'd say my use of AI is transformative and I only use free and opensource software, so no Midjourney jerk's getting my money. My question is: do you find my use problematic none the less? Your honest answer would mean a lot, because we all know how merciless you are towards AI bozos. Cheers! (I welcome other users' opinions, this is on my mind often)

My problem is more with the way those people made their tools than AI per se. Theyre the same clowns that just pooped themselves with nfts and shitcoin scams. Artists using it like you discribe is probably the use case I find least irritating by far. Like you say it's not massively different from photobashing. And I've seen generative art that looks amazing in addition to the cynical rubbish.. but thats just art in general really. If midjourney had made even a token effort to actually offset the way they made their tool, id be less averse to them but instead we get.. well you saw.. . I haven't thought about it much further than that.

Het alex long time fan and patron, just wanted to ask incase I hadn't before but have you thought about doing a tutorial channel, you know show people your method of creating art, to inspire people and maybe get people to do what you do instead of taking the easy route of ai art. Or do you think that more work than it's worth?
