MNL Progress Report #11 (Patreon)

Hey there, nudies! Brad here! Unfortunately, we ran into some more hiccups this week trying to get our environment working in-engine, so sadly, no in-game footage this week either. We've mostly worked out the kinks, we just need a little bit more time on it. I think we'll have something to show next week, for sure.

So instead, I'd like to reveal the map layout for Culo Culo! This was actually drawn up by yours truly after SEVERAL tweaks and revisions. I'm sure you can tell it's just something whipped up in photoshop, but hey, these things gotta start from somewhere, even when you don't have the art skills to make it look nice! Besides, it's neat to see how the naked sausage is made, right? Seriously though, don't worry, the final map will be drawn by a pro.

Each emoji on here represents a different building or activity Amber can visit (or in the case of things like houses or trees, represents the type of area it is). At the beginning of the game, Amber will only have access to a small portion of the city, little more than a single street. But as the game progresses, Culo Culo will open up more and more until you have the entire city and its outskirts to explore! This also makes it easier to manage from a development sense, allowing us to work on the city in small chunks as we expand out. We have a lot of things planned for this game, and we already have a roadmap to see it all through!

In other news, I've finished importing the story script changes! It took a little bit of learning with github and visual studio code, but having me do it is gonna save Invertex and Jaguar a whole lot of time in the long run. I love writing, so I don't wanna bog them down in my dialogue. Or you, too, for that matter! Wanna give you guys enough to read without it being a slog. I really can't wait for you all to read it~
